We aim to do so by researching, designing and building rockets and rocket engines to take part in student competitions around Europe and, of course, having fun doing so.
The Team was founded by a group of students in November of 2023 and is now recruting motivated students from all the campus faculties that want to take part in the first project ever.
Aurora would not have been possible without the sheer determination of the founders, the aerospace department professors and the support of Skyward, the rocketry team of the Politecnico of Milan.
Plan the mission and estimate the trajectory with software. Collaborate with the other departments to make sure the goal is reached.
Transform the project into reality by utilizing CAD for rocket part design. Craft components using DIY tools or 3D printing, and then assemble them for completion.
Make the on-board the electronics of the rocket as well as the ground station. Basic at firsts, in the next projects it will develop custom boards and control systems.
Choose the team propulsion system and assembly it. For future project it will provide the team with a student designed solid, hybrid or liquid propulsion system.
Manage the social media accounts, make sure the team is known across the University. Find sponsors and allow the team to reach new heights.
Collaborate with Mission Analysis to choose the best rocket design to reduce drag at minimum. As we progress expected to design airbrakes.
Aurora aspires to reach new heights, and we are seeking support to fuel our journey. If your company is interested in providing material or financial assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
